I hobbled into Bragg Creek Physiotherapy on the recommendation of a friend in Bragg, what a wise decision. Carole renovated my back. Not only did she relieve the immediate pain I was having - a sever muscle spasm and general rebellion in my lower back - but she assessed and addressed some old damage from years past. I have a nursery in Springbank and was really worried about the up coming season - If I could not lift, walk , sit or even sleep - I would be in big trouble.

I was so impressed with the first needle Carole stuck in my back, the muscle released it's grip - suddenly I could stand - not straight, but at least stand and walk with less pain. I did not realize that I would ever not have pain in my back. Carole changed all that - I still wake in the night and marvel at the fact that I don't hurt. Several treatments and I am square (spine wise) and able to do all of the tasks I need to without pain and without fear of injury to my back - I treat it better and Carole can always repair it if I need. I am better than I was before my injury and my friend still waits for an MRI - he fears the needle. I love the needle - nothing better than that tension release. Thanks Carole, I still say you are a miracle worker.

"Thank goodness for Lisa Le Poole and the wonderful staff at Bragg Creek Physiotherapy! Lisa should be the "poster child" for what physiotherapy is all about and the benefits you achieve from her knowledge and care.

My misery started with a head too heavy for my neck to support, numbness in my fingers and excruciating pain in my arm, neck, shoulders and back. I could not find any comfortable position day or night and was at my wits end. Falling on my sword would have been a welcomed relief at this point!  Rather than go to such extremes I made an appointment at Bragg Creek Physiotherapy.  Lisa completed a thorough assessment of my situation and then set up a course of treatment for my particular problems.  Initially I had ups and downs with the treatment, as Lisa advised I would, but as treatment has continued on a regular basis my improvement has been steady.  Lisa is now cutting back my appointments and getting ready to "kick me out" of the nest.

The complement of staff at Bragg Creek Physiotherapy, in my opinion is the greatest. Lea, "receptionist extraordinaire" always has a smile, warm greeting and a wicked sense of humor as your first point of contact! She is extremely professional and when I am finally sprung I will really miss our bi-weekly encounters!
I can’t say enough good things about this team. If you are in need of any of the services they provide I suggest you get on the phone right away (949-4008) and find out for yourself."

In late May of 2008 I became aware that I would be seconded to the RCMP in 2009 for the purposes of an international policing mission. In order to be a candidate for this mission I was also informed that I would have to do the PARE physical fitness test. As a 53 year old police detective with a chronically bad knee and excess poundage, I was somewhat daunted by the prospect of having to do the test.  I approached Lisa at Bragg Creek Physio and asked her for advice and a training program.  I have known Lisa for a number of years, but only in the capacity as a client for her always excellent physiotherapy services.  I had never approached anyone before for fitness training or weight loss advice and was somewhat nervous due to the possible threat to my own rather sizable ego.

Lisa immediately calmed my fears and performed a thorough assessment of my (then) rather pathetic fitness situation.  She also assessed my knee situation and recommended a number of measures to provide me with short and long term pain relief and stability. Lisa continuously monitored my progress over the next several months and when necessary, provided me with encouragement and further training advice. The result has been that I now religiously work out 5 nights per week, ride my bike to and from work and have dropped approx 25 pounds.  I have received numerous compliments on my "new" less bulky look and recently ran (and survived)  the PARE test within the required time limit. Unfortunately, while running the test I committed numerous time fault inducing errors which combined to disqualify me.  Rather than be disappointed, I am thrilled that Lisa's training program, professionalism, extensive knowledge and patient encouragement allowed me to get this far.  I will run the test again when I return from Africa, confident in the knowledge that I am (thanks to Lisa's input) physically capable of passing the damned thing (as long as I avoid the time fault errors)!!

Thanks again Lisa and I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone as a physiotherapist, fitness advisor, trainer or coach.   You rock!

They say, “You never know the value of something until it is taken away.”

Well I say, “You never know the true value of something until it is given back.”

As an injured distance runner sidelined for weeks and left holding the coats of other runners at the start of a race I knew I needed help.  An inaccurate diagnosis by my family physician convinced me I needed the aid of someone more familiar with sport injury.  Boy did I end up in the right place!

In Lisa’s care I received:

·         A quick and proper assessment of an injury requiring surgery.

·         Strength exercises to limit the atrophy while arranging medical treatment.

·         A plan to get me back running that began four days after a partial meniscectomy.

·         Guidance and therapy that helped me rehabilitate my knee, remedy the resultant muscle imbalances, and had me running again two months after surgery.

·         PASSIONATE care and assistance.

At all times I felt understood as an athlete, that I received a well thought out plan for recovery that was delivered professionally and at times with “tough love!”

I cannot possibly say enough to express my gratitude for Lisa and all in her office who worked with me, and kindly and steadily worked me back not to the same state…but better!  The strength I achieved, and the core awareness I gained were (nearly) enough to make my time off running a “good” experience.

Today I am running strong and can often be heard singing (albeit off key) the praises of Bragg Creek Physio.

If you aren’t sure whether or how the team at Bragg Creek Physiotherapy can help you reach your goals, read on.  I once had the very same questions.  I don’t have those questions anymore.

In September 2009, I made the decision to take my distance running to the next level - I was going to challenge the historic “Around The Bay” 30 km race, held each March for more than 100 years in Hamilton, Ontario.  In preparation, I began to push my body farther, faster and harder than ever before.

With the increased training, came the predictable distance running aches and pains.  One day though, I felt that something more serious was wrong.  There was.  A muscle imbalance was causing gradually increasing tightness and strain.  The harder I trained, the worse it got.

At first, I was hesitant to go see a physiotherapist.  I thought that only people who were “injured” could benefit from physiotherapy.  I wasn’t injured - I was training harder than ever before!

Finally, I listened to my body and booked an appointment to see Lisa Le Poole.  Right from the first appointment Lisa and the entire team at Bragg Creek Physio have been first class professionals with service and expertise every bit as good – or better – than you will find at any clinic in the a big city.

Lisa and her team immediately honed in on the muscle imbalance issue and through treatment and an excellent series of home exercises gave me exactly the fix that I needed.  Lisa and her team not only got me to the start line – they were instrumental in helping me beat my goal – getting me across the finish line 7 minutes ahead of schedule!

Lisa has been outstanding to work with as part of the injury prevention portion of my training program.  From her patience, knowhow and positive energy, she is the best body mechanic out there!

Take it from me – the team at Bragg Creek Physio can help you achieve your goals and you don’t need to wait for an injury to enjoy the benefits a good physiotherapist can bring!
